UAE tannery signs deals in automotive and culture sectors
Abu Dhabi-based Al Khaznah Leathers has signed two agreements during Make It in the Emirates 2026, covering automotive applications and cultural heritage initiatives.
A memorandum of understanding with automotive company ROX, sets out plans to explore automotive leather solutions, including finished leathers, cut parts and components for future mobility uses.
A second agreement with the UAE Ministry of Culture will support Emirati craftsmanship, including training, heritage-inspired leather products and the integration of traditional techniques into modern production.
Managing director and chief executive officer Shamsa Muaid Alahbabi said the agreements combine industrial development with efforts to preserve local craft traditions.
The deals form part of wider efforts in the UAE to support localisation, skills development and industrial diversification.
