China reports growth in export and import of leather bags

Exports of leather bags from China had a positive start to the year.

Figures the China Leather Industry Association has shared put the value of exports for January and February 2026 at more than €5.3 billion, an increase of 18.4% year on year.

There was also an increase in the value of bags that importers brought into China over the same two months. The 2026 figure was just under €1 billion, up by 22.6% compared to the same period last year.
