Positive start to the year for leather exports from France

France’s tanners exported leather with a value of €38.3 million in the first two months of 2026, up by 10% year on year.

Semi-processed hides brought in €5.7 million, an increase of 30% compared to the figures for January and February 2025.

Finished leather exports were worth €32.6 million, 7% more than the same months last year. Of this total, bovine hides brought in €15.1 million, up by 21%. Calfskin exports were worth €8.8 million, an increase of 5%.

Shipments of sheepskins, had a value of €5.3 million, which represents a fall of 21% year on year.
