Leather garment success at Jacquemus
The chief executive of Paris-based brand Jacquemus, Sarah Benady, has said leather apparel was one of the elements of a brand elevation strategy that has proved most effective.
In a recent interview with WWD, Ms Benady said she had been very interested to note that the most high-end components of its collections, “especially leather ready-to-wear”, was what had driven the business in recent months.
She said leather clothing items had sold out quickly. She went on to say that the most recent bags Jacquemus has introduced have also proved popular, adding that leathergoods now accounted for almost half the brand’s revenues.
It is just over a year since Sarah Benady has taken up her current role. She said that one of the important changes she had made was to have all of Jacquemus’s leather products made by manufacturing partners in Italy.
