Flagship RM Williams store opens in London
Australian bootmaker RM Williams opened a new flagship store on London’s Jermyn Street on March 27.
In total, 73 styles of boot are available in the store, which the company said was the largest collection of RM Williams footwear anywhere in the world and “the most comprehensive expression of the brand’s bootmaking expertise to date”.
Founded in Australia in 1932, RM Williams built its reputation on utility, durability and craftsmanship, most notably its single-piece leather boot, cut from one piece of leather for strength, longevity and repairability.
The brand has recorded three consecutive years of double-digit growth in the UK. In addition to the new Jermyn Street store, it has recently opened shops in Bath and Edinburgh and is on course to open another in Guildford in April. This will take its total number of stores to eight.
Chief executive, Paul Grosmann, said: “This flagship allows us to show the full depth of what RM Williams does best. From the breadth of our boot offering to the level of service in store, Jermyn Street gives us the space to present our craftsmanship at its highest standard and meet the expectations of a very discerning customer.”
