Danese integrates Zwaans to strengthen technical capabilities
Italian machinery specialist Danese Srl has integrated the operations and know-how of German company Zwaans, strengthening its technical offering to the leather processing industry.
The agreement includes the transfer of expertise, equipment and technologies related to Zwaans’ Transbelt systems, used in specialised material processing.
The move forms part of Danese’s long-term growth strategy, following earlier integrations of Turnex GmbH in 2004, Calati Snc in 2019 and CARM The Buffing Paper in 2021. With Zwaans joining in 2026, the company continues to build a technical base focused on practical, production-oriented solutions.
These combined capabilities are brought together under the Tannery.Equipment concept, which covers spare parts, instruments and consumables for the tanning sector. Danese said the aim is to deliver solutions that are readily available, cost-effective and supported by technical expertise.
Zwaans is known for its reliable, application-driven engineering, and its integration adds practical know-how alongside existing capabilities.
Danese said the process is based on continuity, integrating and developing established technologies rather than replacing them, reflecting the importance of combining experience with ongoing innovation in the leather industry.
