Commercial director role at Pulcra Group for Claus Reineking

Chemicals group Pulcra has confirmed Claus Reineking as its new global commercial director for leather. He has taken over the role from Ramón Segura, who retired this autumn after more than 40 years at the group.

Claus Reineking joins Pulcra from Langro-Chemie, where he had been managing director. His career in the leather industry spans more than 35 years, starting with an apprenticeship in his native Chile before he travelled to Europe at the end of the 1980s to complete the course at the Lederinstitut Geberschule in Reutlingen.

After this, he worked for short spells at Smit & Zoon and Ecco Leather before spending 14 years at Clariant. He transferred to Stahl in 2014 after the Netherlands-based group acquired Clariant’s leather services business. He went on to become Stahl’s global technical director for leather before his move to Langro in 2021.

Pulcra Group’s chief executive, Bernd Schalk, said Claus Reineking’s technical expertise, global outlook and executive leadership made him “the perfect fit” for this new role.

For his part, Mr Reineking said his experience in the global leather sector so far had helped him form a high level of understanding of the industry from a technical and commercial perspective. “I am excited to bring this insight to Pulcra,” he said.
