China’s exports of new-energy passenger vehicles are up by 80%

Chinese consumers bought almost 11.5 million new-energy passenger cars in the first 11 months of 2025, according to new figures from the China Passenger Car Association.
It said this figure represents an increase of 19.6% compared to the same period in 2024.
The association also said automotive manufacturers in China exported more than 2.1 million new-energy passenger vehicles in the January-November period in 2025, an increase of more than 80% year on year.
New-energy vehicles is a category that includes battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids.
