Prime Minister inspects revamped leather technology hub in Roubiki
Prime Minister of Egypt, Mostafa Madbouli, has inspected the rehabilitation of the leather tanning technology centre at Roubiki Leather City, under the Ministry of Industry.

Deputy prime minister for industrial development and transport minister Kamel El Wazir said the centre will support small manufacturers with access to modern equipment and Italian supervised technical training.

The upgrade aims to improve product quality, support exports and attract investment in finished leather goods. The project involved EGP50 million (€960,000) in investment, plus a €6 million grant from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation for equipment, training and brand development.

Established in 2007, the centre will now operate under a public private partnership, managed by Al Robbeki for Tanning Technology.
