World Leather October-November 2025 out now

The latest World Leather, the October–November 2025 issue, is out now.

Articles in our Technology section this time cover specific innovations, such as a new polycarbodiimide crosslinker from Stahl, but also review recent major industry events: the XXXVIII IULTCS Congress and the 2025 Simac-Tanning Tech exhibition. Our reports highlight a clear, common message, which is the importance of collaboration in driving the global leather industry forward.

This is also one of a number of important subjects that ICHSLTA president, Micaela Topper, touches on in her conversation with us for the Leather Leaders interview this time.

Connections with other industries also come up in the Leather and the Circular Economy section. Senior figures from the leather sector joined their voices to those representing other natural fibres at recent encounters with the Food and Agriculture Organisation in Rome. A natural fibres collaborative effort is the way forward, many believe.

We also chart the ups and downs the industry has gone through this autumn with moves and counter-moves on the European Union Deforestation Regulation.

In Circular Stories we highlight the work of automotive leather group Pangea for its donation of hundreds of hides to worker-owned leathergoods cooperative Pingree Detroit. We also profile Then Korea, a handmade footwear brand making the most of the distinctiveness and naturalness of leather.

Finally, in Beast to Beauty, we chart the steps that led to bio-focused footwear brand Solk’s realisation that no material on the market can match leather for performance and prestige.

We hope you enjoy every article.
