World Leather June-July 2025 available now
The June-July issue of World Leather is out now. This issue of the magazine, available in the WL Digital section of the website, contains in-depth reviews of two of the year’s most important innovation-focused conferences, the SLTC event in Glasgow and the FILK Leather Days gathering in Freiberg.
FILK’s chief executive, Professor Michael Meyer, also features in our Leather Leaders interview this time, speaking about the work of the institute and about its famous 2021 study, which compared the performance attributes of leather to those of a range of synthetic alternatives.
Other technology articles bring news of developments in fatliquors and in automation for assessing raw material.
In Leather and the Circular Economy, we have now taken the total number of articles in the series, which began in 2020, to 185. This new collection covers the industry’s work to voice its circular credentials in the heart of the European Union, and a data-capture initiative that could aid the industry’s efforts to increase transparency.
We also offer a timely reminder of the value of the Nothing To Hide essays, which have been helping to allay myths about leather for a decade now.
We close with Beast to Beauty and a feature on Ecco Leather, expressing hope of a recovery following the recent fire that destroyed its beamhouse.
We are sure readers will enjoy all of these articles.
