Car production in Germany reached a level of just over 1.4 million vehicles in the first four months of 2025, up by 1% year on year.

From January to April, German auto makers exported 1.1 million new cars, also an increase of 1% year on year. These figures come from national industry association VDA.

With regard to electric vehicles, VDA reported 246,600 new registrations in Germany in the first four months of 2025, up by 44% compared to the same period last year. Registrations of purely battery-electric cars (BEVs) reached 158,500, up by 43%.
