Slow start for bag imports into China
Imports of leather bags and luggage products into China fell in value in the first two months of 2025.
For January and February, the China Leather Industry Association said the value of bags and luggage coming into China from overseas was $800 million.
It said this represented a fall of 27.8% compared to the same months in 2024.
There were more positive figures for imports into China of leather garments. In the first two months of the year, retailers and traders brought leather garments worth $19.2 million into China, an increase of 3% year on year.
