Following its recent announcement to cease leather production at its historic Torbali tannery in Izmir, Turkish leather specialist Sepici has launched a new business structure focused on global sourcing, subcontract tanning, and leather warehousing.

The newly formed company, Sepici Iç ve Dis Ticaret A.S., brings together nearly a century of industry expertise with leadership from both within and outside the leather sector. The transition marks a strategic move towards a more agile, sustainability-focused model, while maintaining Sepici’s core offer of premium chrome- and vegetable-tanned bovine leathers.

With operations in Istanbul and Italy, and a commercial presence in Canada and the United States, Sepici says it is well positioned to serve global markets with speed and precision. It will also offer services in product development, design innovation, and market research, aiming to act as a strategic partner to brands and manufacturers.

Sepici has also reaffirmed its commitment to responsible employment and labour dialogue, building on a long-established tradition of cooperation with trade unions and support for workers' rights in the Turkish leather industry.
