Interior design tipped for strong growth
Specialist analyst firm Bain & Company has put the value of the global high-end interior design market at €46 billion in 2024.
This represents a fall of 2% compared to 2023, and of 4.2% compared to 2022, but Bain has said it views this as a natural correction following a post-covid surge in sales.
Furthermore, Milan-based analyst Claudia D’Arpizio, who is a senior partner and global head of fashion & luxury at Bain, has said she believes the interior design segment of the luxury market can achieve annual growth of between 5% and 7% between now and 2030.
Speaking to business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore in the build-up to Milan Design Week (April 8-13), Ms D’Arpizio said she believed interior design was performing better than other sectors, including luxury cars and artworks, and could reach an annual value of as much as €75 billion in 2030.
She added that this was good news for Italian manufacturers, whose share of the global market she put at between 25% and 30%.
