Industry commentators in Turkey have reported a decline in the consumption of vegetable tannin extracts among the country’s tanners, in spite of reductions in price.

Recent analysis suggests a fall of between 20% and 30% in the consumption of mimosa, quebracho and tara in Turkey.

At the same time, local industry figures have reported falls of between 15% and 20% in the price of these tanning products.
