Turkish leather industry groups hold joint meeting

The leadership teams of several industry bodies in Turkey held a joint meeting in Istanbul on October 9.
After the meeting, Bekir Burak Uyguner, who is president of the International Council of Tanners and of the Turkish Leather Industrialists Association, said the discussion at the meeting had focused on the current issues that leather-sector manufacturers in Turkey are facing.
He said: “We will continue to work for the strengthening of our sectors and the development of our country.”
Other organisations taking part included the Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association (IDMIB) and the Turkish Shoe Manufacturers’ Association (TASD).
