Field day explores sustainable leather production methods
British Pasture Leather is hosting a Field Day program to educate designers on regenerative agriculture and its application in leather production. The event will provide an overview of how sustainable farming practices can support ecosystem restoration and responsible leather sourcing.
The program, being held on October 3 and 4, will include a visit to a regenerative farm certified by Pasture for Life, where participants will receive information on soil management, grazing practices, and farm biodiversity from experts including farmer John Cherry, researcher and farmer Nikki Yoxall, and animal health specialist Claire Whittle.
Following the farm visit, attendees will tour a UK leather finishing facility. Master leather currier Greg Miller will explain the leather production process, focusing on how it can align with environmental sustainability and support local supply chains.
Sara Grady and Alice Robinson, founders of British Pasture Leather, will also be present to discuss the company's approach to integrating regenerative agricultural practices with leather production and to facilitate the event.
The Field Day aims to provide designers with a deeper understanding of sustainable leather production and its environmental benefits.
