Designer reimagines Lidl’s iconic croissant
Low cost supermarket group Lidl has teamed up with New York-based designer Nikolas Bentel to create a limited-edition leather croissant bag, with all proceeds from sales being donated to the children's charity NSPCC. This collaboration, marking Bentel's first partnership in the UK, features a design inspired by Lidl's best-selling bakery item, the croissant.

Lidl's sale of 122 croissants per minute served as the basis for Bentel's creation, which reimagines the croissant as a coin purse encased in a soft leather bag resembling the paper packaging typically found in the bakery aisle.

Nikolas Bentel, Founder of Nikolas Bentel Studios, noted that the collaboration aligns with his belief that design should transform ordinary objects into memorable items. The leather croissant bag is available in limited quantities and is expected to attract interest from both fashion enthusiasts and collectors.
