Brazil showcases Leather at ACLE
Brazil is set to highlight its leather industry at the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) in Shanghai from September 3 to 5, with 15 companies participating under the Brazilian Leather project.
This initiative, driven by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) and ApexBrasil, aims to boost Brazil's leather exports by showcasing the nation's capabilities in sustainability, innovation, and design.
ACLE is a key event for the global leather industry, especially given China's dominance in the market, producing 54.9% of the world’s footwear. Following the fair’s strong return in 2023 after a pandemic hiatus, Brazilian exports of hides and skins to China and Hong Kong have surged by 23.4% in early 2024, underscoring the growing importance of this market.
The Brazilian Leather project will feature the Preview do Couro exhibition, displaying a range of products from various tanneries, and engage in business meetings, cooperation agreements, and media interactions. Letícia Luft, the project's manager, will also speak at the International Tannery Industry Executives Summit, discussing global trends with industry leaders.
This event marks a strategic opportunity for Brazil to strengthen its presence in the Chinese market and reinforce the global competitiveness of its leather industry.
