2024 Design competition winners revealed

The 2024 International Real Leather. Stay Different. Student Design Competition has celebrated its fourth year, spotlighting emerging designers committed to sustainable fashion.

Roscha Dinler won the Footwear Category with his "Patina over Plastic" project, which reduces plastic use by incorporating leather over minimal foam and rubber, blending sustainability with style.

Mor Elfassy took the Apparel Category win with garments inspired by Milena Neaf's "Fleeting Parts," exploring contrasts like exposure versus concealment through innovative leather techniques.

Bingbing Bai won the Accessories Category with a collection featuring vegetable-tanned leather and handmade techniques, reflecting a commitment to traditional craftsmanship and sustainability.

Josslyn Shi earned the People's Choice Award for her project inspired by butterfly life cycles, featuring detachable, reusable garment components that promote longevity and sustainability.

These winners will now compete for the Overall Winner title in September 2024, showcasing the future of creative and responsible fashion.
