New CEO announcement at Oeko-Tex
Oeko-Tex has announced the appointment of Dr Alfred J. Beerli as its new CEO.
Dr Beerli brings extensive experience in strategic management consulting and expertise in operational, IT, and knowledge management. A native of Switzerland, Dr Beerli previously served as CEO of the information and communications technology consultancy uniQconsulting ag and the workwear provider workfashion.com ag. He also served as a Board Member of amfori BSCI from 2012 to 2016, an initiative dedicated to improving working conditions in global supply chains.
In his new role, Dr Beerli will focus on advancing the Oeko-Tex portfolio. He will work closely with the 17 independent research and testing institutes of the Oeko-Tex Association to ensure sustainable and transparent practices in the international textile and leather industries. A significant part of his work will involve engaging in dialogue and cooperation with government institutions, initiatives, and trade associations, areas where he has considerable expertise and an extensive network.
Dr. Beerli expressed his dedication to ecological responsibility and social justice, principles that have guided his professional and personal life. He emphasized his commitment to supporting the textile and leather industries in their pursuit of greater sustainability and transparency through his leadership at Oeko-Tex.
