The final of this year’s competition, Real Leather Stay Different 2024, will take place at the US Embassy in London on September 23.
On the judging panel will be the managing director of Hugo Boss, Christopher Koerber, stylist Mike Adler, the chief executive of leather manufacturer Rino Mastrotto Group, Matteo Mastrotto, Christian Louboutin footwear designer Anna Melegh, and fashion education consultant Adrien Yakimov Roberts.
LHCA president, Kerry Brozyna, commented: “We are delighted to have assembled such a distinguished panel of judges for this year’s competition.”
The competition involves students at design schools around the world who have the task of creating a bespoke item that must have at least 50% bovine leather, from US cattle, in its material mix. The products can be from the clothing, footwear or accessory categories.
