Centenary celebration for production in Huningue

Leather chemicals group TFL is set to celebrate 100 years of production history with a two-part event.

The company's journey began in 1924 with 'Produits Geigy SA' producing dyes in Huningue. After being destroyed during World War II, the factory was rebuilt, modernised, and expanded.

In 1970, the company rebranded to Ciba-Geigy SA and diversified its operations. By the end of 1996, the production activities were acquired by Novartis, Clariant, and BASF, leading to the establishment of TFL.

The two-day event, taking place on June 7 and 8, will include a breakfast meeting, round-table discussion, and facility tour for stakeholders. The second day will focus on TFL employees and their families.

TFL's Huningue plant is dedicated to the production of chemical intermediates for leather processing, employing 121 people in production and logistics. It is also the sole site in France.

The plant is strategically located near the Rhine River and handles logistics for products manufactured by other TFL group plants. Continuous investments have led to expansion, increased production capacity, and enhanced automation.

TFL looks forward to continued innovation and success in the chemical industry as it celebrates its centennial.
