Reports from Turkey suggest that manufacturers of shoe upper leather are drifting away from the Tuzla leather cluster and moving to Bursa instead.

Tanners say Tuzla’s proximity to Istanbul has driven up labour costs and water-treatment expenses, encouraging them to set up in the Bursa leather cluster instead.

Tuzla is around 100 kilometres from Bursa.
