LVMH Métiers d’Art, the grouping of specialised manufacturing facilities and skilled craftspeople that the luxury group set up in 2015, has increased its stake in Catalan leather manufacturer Riba Guixà.

The luxury group first invested in the business, a specialist producer of Entrefino lambskin, in 2015. It has now become the majority shareholder of the business, increasing its share from 20% to 80%.

Chief executive of LVMH Métiers d’Art, Matteo De Rosa, said the decision reaffirmed its confidence in Riba Guixà “and in its unrivalled artisanship”. He said it would make it possible to increase quality standards for lambskin and to promote “an innovative and sustainable vision of production, ensuring that heritage and traditional skills will be perpetuated for the future generations”.
