Bader announces expansion into Romania
Automotive leather group Bader has acquired Romanian cut-and-sew operation Coindu. It will continue to operate the Coindu facility in Curtici in the west of Romania, officially renaming it Bader Romania. Around 800 people work at the site.
Bader said the move marked “a significant milestone” in its long-term strategy in the European seat-cover market, with the Romanian facility serving as “a crucial hub” for offering cut-and-sew services to its automotive customers in this part of Europe.
The group already runs seat-cover production sites in Bulgaria and Ukraine. It pointed out that the newly acquired Curtici site is only 10 kilometres from the Hungarian border and described this as “strategic positioning” with good access to assembly lines across eastern and central Europe.
