Muirhead flying high with BA

The first of British Airways' new Airbus A321neo aircraft has been delivered, featuring leather upholstery from Muirhead, part of the Scottish Leather Group.

The G-TNED aircraft is the first of eight A320 and A321neo planes set to showcase new interiors that highlight the best of British design, developed in collaboration with suppliers from England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

As part of an $8 billion revamp, British Airways is launching over 600 modernisation initiatives aimed at providing a world-class customer experience. The new short-haul seats and cabin interiors will debut on the next generation of Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, with eight planes scheduled to arrive starting in May 2024.

The updated interiors will feature both economy class seats and business class areas made in the United Kingdom, reflecting a modern yet classic British style. The business class seats will include a bespoke leather tray in the empty seat between the aisle and window seats, and will be equipped with charging points.
