Know-how and ‘the finest materials’ keep Hermès flying high
Luxury leathergoods group Hermès has reported first-quarter revenues of €3.8 billion, growth 12.6% year on year.
Growth figures were of 10.8% in Japan, 8.9% in the rest of Asia, 10.3% in the Americas, 14.3% in France, and 13.5% in the rest of Europe.
Leathergoods and saddlery brought in €1.6 billion, an increase of 15.5%, while the figures for ready-to-wear and accessories (which also includes shoes, belts and gloves) showed revenues of just over €1 billion and growth of 11.7%.
Executive chairman, Axel Dumas, said: “Hermès pursues its strategy based on exceptional know-how, the finest materials and uncompromising quality. The solid sales growth reflects the loyalty of our customers, the strength of the group’s artisanal model and the desirability of our creations.”
