Reports from Bangladesh say a Dutch-Bangladeshi joint venture company, BSK Fashion, is to establish a new leathergoods factory in Cumilla, in the south-east of the Asian country.

An investment of $6 million will go into the new manufacturing facility, which will have the capacity to produce 3 million bags, pieces of luggage and small leathergoods per year, creating more than 1,000 new jobs.

Dutch entrepreneur Jeroen Herms founded BSK Fashion in 2008 with Chinese business partner Sophie Bi. The company set up its first factory in 2011 and has bag and backpack manufacturing operations in China and Myanmar.
