UNIDO - A decade of knowledge sharing
The UNIDO knowledge platform www.leatherpanel.org was launched in April 2014 to share information on the best practices in the leather and leather products industry.
Ivan Kral, Industrial Development Officer at UNIDO, reported on social media that the platform has successfully disseminated knowledge and information over the past decade, resulting in over 500,000 downloads of various reports and publications.
Highlighting that access to learning materials and courses for education and skills required by the industry has become increasingly important, Mr Kral said the platform offers various eLearning and training materials with different courses that are currently being used by students and practitioners from all regions.
Some of the most frequently used documents on the platform include the Framework for Sustainable Leather Manufacture, Future for Leather, LCA, and others. Furthermore, the platform provides an H2S course, a safety course, and an introduction to effluent treatment as part of its learning materials and courses.
Overall, the LeatherPanel platform has become a reference and source of information for the industry
