Tärnsjö Garveri collaboration in Stockholm design week
During Stockholm Design Week, NK Interior a division of Nordiska Kompaniet (NK), a renowned shopping destination in Scandinavia and a stronghold of traditional retail hosted its annual initiative, "Together," in collaboration with traditional vegetable tannery Tärnsjö Garveri.
Focusing on Swedish craftsmanship, sustainability, and local production, designers including Lisa Hilland, Pia Wallén, Maxjenny, Anki Gneib, Sami Kallio, Jonas Bohlin, Julie Amira, and Olivia Åhman, showcased exclusive leather goods crafted from chrome-free, vegetable-tanned leather, emphasising eco-conscious practices and contemporary relevance.
Ulrika Andersson, CEO of Tärnsjö Tannery, described the project as a convergence of creativity, craftsmanship, and contemporary relevance. Despite the conclusion of the showcase, the impact of Together continues to resonate globally, fostering unexpected collaborations and inspiring designers to explore new materials and techniques. Kadi Harjak, CEO of NK Interior, emphasised the project's strength lies in mutual support and collaboration, facilitating innovation in product development.
