Igualada tannery embraces autonomous grading

Spanish tannery Casas I Fills, based in Igualada has recently implemented the Numeric Hide Quality (NHQ) system, an autonomous hide inspection system, to enhance quality control and customer service.

Using advanced scanning technology and flexible grading algorithms, NHQ allows the tannery to scan and trace every hide with unparalleled accuracy and speed. This includes recognising wetblue and wet white defects, identifying their position and size, and objectively grading them swiftly and effortlessly.

Casas, is renowned for its eco-friendly practices and has already earned a gold rating from the Leather Working Group, claiming to be the first Spanish tannery to achieve this feat.

The NHQ system, which is provided by Hidexe, features advanced scanning technology and customisable grading algorithms that improve efficiency and collaboration with clients. The tannery say that the implementation of the new equipment has streamlined production processes and enhanced productivity within the tannery and has offered that interested parties are welcome to visit the factory and witness the impact of the system first hand.
