Major stars appear in cinematic celebration of Chanel bags
Luxury brand Chanel has revisited an iconic 1960s French film as part of a new promotional campaign for its bags.
It has recreated famous scenes from Claude Lelouch’s 1966 film ‘A Man And A Woman’, depicting a Parisian couple, originally played by and Jean-Louis Trintignant and Anouk Aimée, who meet and fall in love in Deauville in Normandy.
In the 2024 version, the lead characters are played by Brad Pitt and established Chanel brand ambassador Penélope Cruz. At one point, re-enacting one of the most famous scenes from the original film, Ms Cruz places a Chanel 2.55 bag on the table when the two sit down to dinner in a restaurant called La Belle Époque in the Hotel Barrière Le Normandy in Deauville.
Chanel commented that the Claude Lelouch film was “as timeless as the bag”.
