25/03/2024

The leather industry will feature at the 2024 edition of the Parma Festival of the Green Economy, which takes place in the northern Italian city from April 5-7.

Part of the city’s wider Green Week celebrations, the festival encompasses a broad programme of discussions, factory visits and artistic presentations.

Managing director of Italy’s national tanning industry association UNIC, Fulvia Bacchi, will take part in a discussion on the challenges that businesses face in trying to become sustainable. This will take place on April 5.

On the same day, the marketing director of leather manufacturer Conceria Montebello, Viola Dalle Mese, will be one of the speakers in a discussion on sustainable fashion.

Conceria Montebello is also one of the manufacturing facilities that delegates at the Parma Festival of the Green Economy will be able to visit as part of a programme called Sustainable Factories 2024.

Water services provider Medio Chiampo will also be part of the factory visit programme. It will showcase initiatives such as the water treatment services it provides to the leather manufacturers of the Chiampo Valley in the province of Vicenza.
