Bangladesh - Two companies recognised for best practice
Picard Bangladesh Ltd. and Blue Ocean Footwear Ltd., members of the Leathergoods and Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association of Bangladesh (LFMEAB), were recently awarded the Social Dialogue Award in the Participatory Committee category.
Picard Bangladesh Ltd. was named the champion, while Blue Ocean Footwear Ltd. was recognised as the runner-up.
The awards were given in recognition of the companies' commitment to sustainability and best practices in their respective industries under the STILE programme. The programme was implemented in collaboration with GIZ and partnered by the Ministry of Commerce and related trade bodies.
In addition to the company awards, two trainers from LFMEAB, Sharif Nawrin Akter and Syfur Rahman, were also recognized for their outstanding work. They received the Best Trainer Award in the same category.
