Zegna to open leather goods and footwear factory in Italy
Italian fashion group Ermenegildo Zegna has announced that it will be opening a new luxury footwear and leather goods factory in Sala Baganza (Parma) to expand its production capacity and promote Italian craftsmanship.
The 12,500 square metre facility is expected to be completed by December 2026 and will focus mainly on men's footwear and leather goods. It will also act as a research and development (R&D) centre, strengthening the Group's personalisation offer to meet clients' growing demands.
The new facility will employ over 300 people once it reaches its full capacity in 2027. Chairman and CEO Gildo Zegna stated that the centre will not only be a production facility but also a training ground for a new generation of artisans, ensuring the ongoing viability of these important skills and working to preserve the uniqueness of "Made in Italy."
The location of the facility in Parma builds on the region's long history of craftsmanship, expanding the Group's presence there. The Zegna Group owns the Zegna and Thom Browne brands and operates Tom Ford Fashion through a long-term license agreement with the Estée Lauder Companies.
