New trade centre on course for IILF 2025
Taking place at the Chennai Convention Centre, the 37th India International Leather Fair (IILF) closed on February 3.
Event organisers India Trade Promotions Organisation (ITPO) and co-organisers, Council for Leather Exports (CLE) clarified that the 2025 event would be partly held in the new Chennai Trade Centre, which is due for completion in the next few weeks.
With exhibitor numbers slightly down for the 2024 fair, mostly attributed to a reduction in foreign exhibitors, both ITPO and the CLE were confident that numbers would improve next year with the extra capacity that the new centre would afford.
With the new trade centre available, organisers said that the temporary "hangers" that have made up some of the exhibition space for many years would no longer be needed and that the older Convention Centre buildings and the new Trade Centre could accommodate over 600 exhibitors.
