Bangladesh – Footwear exports to US down
During Jan-Sept 2023, Bangladesh experienced a 45% decline in footwear exports to the US due to the economic slowdown and inflation caused by the Russia-Ukraine war.
Footwear imports from Bangladesh to the US in the first 9 months of 2023 fell by $153.40 million, reaching $187.58 million, compared to $340.99 million in the corresponding period of 2022.
Specifically, Bangladesh’s leather footwear exports to the US declined by 43.07%, totalling $174.31 million in contrast to $306.22 million during the same period in 2022.
