Leathergoods school of excellence to open in France

23/11/2023

The French leather industry is set to receive a major boost with the upcoming establishment of a school of excellence in leathergoods in Brives-Charensac, according to local media.

The project is a collaborative effort between the French leathergoods federation and the leather technical centre, and the school will be located in the historic cloister of the Charterhouse (Carthusian monastery) in Le Puy-en-Velay.

The school’s primary objective is to address the shortage of skilled workers in the French leather industry by training between 80 and 120 individuals every year.
