National tanning conference takes place in Mexico

Mexico’s annual tanning industry conference, el Encuentro Nacional de Curtiduría, took place for thirty-first time. The event ran on November 8 and 9 in León, Guanajuato, co-organised by leather chemists’ and technologists’ association AQTCL and by Guanajuato tanning industry body CICUR.

Speakers ranged from representatives of global leather chemical companies and technology providers to local voices from industry and government organisations.

Main themes for the event were innovation, the circular economy and sustainability, process efficiencies, raw material management and advances in technology.
