Irish designer takes the reins at McQueen

Luxury group Kering has announced Dublin-born designer Seán McGirr as the new creative director of the Alexander McQueen brand.

Mr McGirr was previously head of ready-to-wear at JW Anderson, having worked for Dries van Noten before that.

The brand's chief executive, Gianfilippo Testa, said Alexander McQueen welcomed Seán McGirr's experience, personality and creative energy.
