Oeko-Tex announces double-digit growth
In its Annual Report for 2022/2023, the Oeko-Tex Association, a provider of solutions for the textile and leather industry, has reported positive business growth. The association issued over 43,000 certificates and labels, marking a 21% increase from the previous financial year. The Made In Green product label showed the highest growth rate, increasing by 52%.
Oeko-Tex remains committed to collaborating with partners to drive change and improve sustainability. The launch of their Responsible Business Certification addresses the increasing global expectations and due diligence requirements, where the tool and certification support textile and leather companies in preventing negative effects from their own business operations, supply chains and broader business relationships. The Organic Cotton Certification offers a global network of certified companies to facilitate the sourcing of chemicals, materials and business partners - from cultivation to finished product.
The association's focus on partnerships with multi-stakeholder initiatives has resulted in a general ban on the use of harmful substances in textiles, leather, and shoes. With over 1,000 STeP-certified production facilities, Oeko-Tex is dedicated to promoting responsible decision-making through education and partnership.
