New Balance Malaysia has recalled and removed from sale one style of shoe following investigations into material components.

Following numerous queries into the composition of some parts of the U990TA4 shoe, New Balance confirmed that pigskin material was used in a small portion of the shoe.

In a statement, the company said that accuracy and transparency was critical to the team at New Balance and the shoes had been removed from sale and a recall had been implemented for that style.

It said that partners and distributors were implementing the same measures until labelling had been updated.
