New cutting plant for Forvia in Morocco
Automotive seating group Forvia has opened a new cutting plant for leather and textile upholstery sets at its facility in Salé, Morocco.
Forvia came into existence earlier in 2023 when Paris-based group Faurecia merged with German auto parts manufacturer Hella.
Faurecia has had a presence in Morocco since 2008; it set up two factories there, one in Kénitra and the one in Salé, both close to the capital, Rabat.
In 2022, the group signed an agreement with the Moroccan government to launch a new investment programme in the North African country.
Between now and 2027, Forvia will invest around $15 million in its business in Morocco and create 1,400 new jobs there. The new cutting plant is one of the first fruits of this investment programme.
