Packed programme for Lagos Leather Fair
Leathergoods designers from all parts of Nigeria and beyond are preparing to show off new collections at the 2023 Lagos Leather Fair, which will take place in Africa’s largest city on June 17 and 18. More than 50 designers took part in the 2022 event.
Runway shows, an awards ceremony and series of workshops and talks will be part of the 2023 event, with more than 30 speakers listed on the programme.
In the build-up, one of the designers taking part, Monalisa Azeh, owner of a brand called Mona Matthews, said the collection she intended to put on display at the Lagos Leather Fair was the one she had felt most excited about in 21 years of making high-quality leather products.
“It exudes hope and joyful anticipation of better days ahead,” she said. “It captures my feelings for a new Nigeria.”
