Cattle slaughter up in Argentina
Government figures in Argentina have confirmed cattle slaughter of 4.7 million head in the first four months of 2023, an increase of 12.3% compared to the same months last year.
The average slaughter weight was 226.6 kilos, down by 1.3%
Argentina’s meat exporters’ consortium (ABC) said adverse weather conditions had led to an unusually high number of cows in the slaughter mix, reaching 47% of the total, up on the previous year’s figure of 45.7%.
