The organisers of the Futurmoda exhibition in Elche have said preparations are well under way for this autumn’s event, which will be the fiftieth in its history. Futurmoda focuses on materials and components for footwear manufacturers.

It will go ahead in Elche, close to Spain’s biggest footwear manufacturing hub in the towns of Elda and Petrer, on October 18 and 19.

Organisers expect more than 300 exhibitors representing Portugal, Italy, Germany, China and Bangladesh as well as Spain. Around 40% of these exhibitors will be leather manufacturers, compared to 15% presenting textiles and synthetic materials.

Suppliers of soles, lasts, insoles and other components will also be well represented.
