Freiberg leather days programme finalised
The organisers of the Freiberg Leather Days have announced a positive response to calls for papers, so much so, the conference will be held as a full two day event, on June 28 and 29.
A total of 33 speakers, representing 12 different nations, will join the European networking platform for the tanning and leather industry at the end of June to present useful results from research and development projects.
The programme will be summarised into six thematic blocks:
New analytical methods and procedures for the evaluation of leather quality
Sustainability in the leather industry
Bisphenols and their substitution in leather production
Comparison of leather and alternative materials
News from tanning research
Process automation
The organisers, VGCT and the FILK Freiberg Institute, are looking forward to welcoming experts, researchers and specialists, to their home town in Freiberg, for the first time in five years. This year's conference venue is the Nikolaikirche.
Following the lecture programme and the VGCT general meeting, there will be a Cityhunters iPad rally, a modern day digital scavenger hunt, through Freiberg's city centre. Working in groups and equipped with iPads, participants will have to find target points in the city, complete tasks or solve riddles.
For the joint dinner, the participants are then invited to the Brauhof Freiberg, a rustic taproom of the Freiberg Brewery, providing a relaxed opportunity to exchange ideas and network with partners, friends and new contacts from the industry.
Registration is now open.
