World Leather April-May available now
A new issue of World Leather, our April-May issue, is out now.
We open with an in-depth interview with the new president of the International Council of Tanners, Bekir Burak Uyguner, in our Leather Leaders slot.
Then, we devote the Technology section to the theme of automation and artificial intelligence. The articles outline the future direction that this may take in the leather industry, but there are also real-life examples of benefits that leather manufacturers are gleaning already from digital technology.
In this issue, we also bring to a close our updates for the 2020s of the original Nothing To Hide series of essays with a new version of the fifteenth and final essay, covering the industry’s success in implementing environmental, social and governance (ESG) frameworks.
Leather and the Circular Economy picks this up with a broad reflection on the Italian tanning industry’s 20 years of sustainability reports. There is also a full account of a passionate discussion on deforestation and traceability at the 2023 CICB Sustainability Forum in Brazil.
We hope you enjoy these and all the articles in this issue of the magazine.
